Well hello everyone, we have a number of fundraising projects going on or completed right now. The first project I want to talk about is the Tupperware Online Sale. We didn’t have the number of orders that I had hoped for but we did make it to $1,030 in retail sales. By doing so, we earned $206.00 in host credits to be used on product out of the current Tupperware catalog. I spent right down to the last penny!! We will be using the 6 items for Silent Auction baskets at our Annual State Session this October. We also earned some of the Consultant’s profits that she earned from the $1,030. She kept $65 for her costs to run the Online Sale and the $6.18 sales tax that Tupperware charged on our $206 of free items. I have deposited a check for $186.32 towards Fundraising efforts!!

Another project that is ongoing is the collection of Grange Dollars! If you are not sure what a Grange Dollar is, ask someone to show you a Dollar Bill. If it has a “G” on it, that is a Grange Dollar. We are holding a contest between the Granges of which one collects and turns in the most Grange Dollars at the State Session in Charlevoix. For the Grange that turns in the most Grange Dollars, they will receive a Grange Dollar framed and a Meijer Gift Card for the winning Grange to use as they wish. What Grange couldn’t use a gift card to purchase supplies for a fund raiser or for things needed in their Hall if they still own one.

We will also be collecting “Pennies from Heaven” like we did a few years ago. Bring your loose change (or green paper money) to the State Session and turn it in. Or, if you do not plan to attend the Session, you may send a donation to the State Secretary and put a note with the check that is towards “Pennies from Heaven” collection.

Our big fundraising project for this year is the Homemade Blanket. Wow did we get the squares sent in. We didn’t get as many as I had hoped from Grange Members but we did have a few come in from members. Most of the squares were sent to us from Russ’s YouTube channel subscribers. We got squares from Australia, the UK and Canada as well as from all over the United States! He is in the process of sewing the over 100 squares together and the plan is to have it sewn together by sometime in May. Once that is completed then we will have Connie to apply for the raffle license through the State. Once we have the license, then tickets will be printed and available to help sell. We will be drawing the winners during the State Session in Charlevoix. The 1st prize will be the Blanket which will be very colorful and there will be at least a 2nd prize and maybe even a 3rd price. So far we have a $50 Shell Gas card that has been donated by myself, Kevin, and there was mention of another gift card that another member was thinking of donating as well. We will have all of the prizes listed by the time the license is applied for. Stay tuned for more on this major fundraising project.

If anyone would like to donate today towards the Pennies From Heaven collection, please give to Peggy and she will be happy to count and deposit in the Bank Account.

Thank you everyone. This “department” committee is all members of the Grange not just 2 or 3 people. We are trying to do different types of projects as not everyone likes to sell raffle tickets or sell anything for that matter. Please all support one of the projects. If you have a suggestion for another project we can look into, please let me know by contacting me directly via email or drop me a note in the mail.

See you all in October!

Greetings from the Fund-Raising Committee. I just wanted to bring you up to date with what we have going on right now. The Tupperware Party that we have been hosting online is still open until March 15th. We will be closing it for sure at this point. At the writing of this article, we have reached $1,000 in sales!! That means we will get Host Credit to purchase items from their catalog. We will have those items for sale or to be used in the Silent Auction at the 2024 MGS Annual Session. We will also be receiving a portion of the Tupperware Consultant’s commission after the party has been closed.

We are still taking squares, either crocheted or kitted, for the Blanket raffle. I haven’t counted them lately but the last time I did count we had over 80 squares. This Blanket is going to be a colorful masterpiece once Russ gets it all sown together. If you are working on squares and haven’t sent them please still do! We will take them even if we have the 100 that is needed for the Blanket. Another project or raffle item will be made from them. As soon as the blanket is sown together, we will have Connie Johnston apply for the raffle license and print tickets for everyone to help sell or purchase. We will be drawing the winning ticket(s) at the Annual Session in October. Stay tuned for raffle details and possible other raffle prizes to be added. If you have any suggestions of a few other prizes please let me know.

I hope everyone is collecting their loose coins to bring or send to the MSG Annual Session this October. We are also collecting Grange Dollars. If you look at a Dollar bill, there is a letter on the left side and if that letter is a “G”, that is a Grange Dollar. We are planning to have a competition between the Granges and whichever Grange collects the most will get a framed Grange Dollar to hang in their Hall or meeting location. There might be other things awarded to the top Granges collected as well. Let’s make this project a fun project to see how many we can collect. At the writing of this article, I have already collected almost $50 worth of the Grange Dollars. A few of them even came from my Pomona Grange!

If you have other suggestions for fund raisers, please let me know. We are all ears and no suggestions will be turned away without being discussed.
