FUNDRAISING
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2025 GRANGE NEWS

Well, hello everyone. I hope you have all been saving those Grange Dollars!! I can’t wait to see how many are turned in at State Session in Owosso. We collecting a very good amount at least year’s State Session so I hope for a good amount again. We are also collecting “Pennies from Heaven”, so bring your loose change as well. It doesn’t have to be rolled and ready to take to the bank as I can take them to my local Credit Union where they have a coin counting machine! So, bring as much or as little as you can!
An update on the 10”x10” squares Blanket Raffle. The 1st prize blanket is a King Size Afghan. The 2nd prize blanket is a Queen Size Afghan. And there is a 3rd prize which is $50 Shell gas card and a $25 Lowe’s card. We are drawing these prizes during the Annual Banquet at this year’s State Session. Need not be present to win so please, please, please buy some tickets!? We have sold some but not as many as I had hoped. But, there is still plenty of time. Send in a check to Peggy at the State Grange Office and she would be happy to handle the purchase for you! Also, if you Grange received tickets and you haven’t sold them, please do so. We have had a couple of Granges send in funds on the tickets that were sent to them and I thank you so much for that!
If you are coming to State Session in Owosso this October, we will have Silent Auction tables for the State Grange and also the Host Region is having one as well. Please come prepared to bid, bid high and bid high often!

I look forward to hearing from you if you have any suggestions for future fund raisers. We need to think of things we can reach outside of the Grange Membership circle to bring in other sources of funds. Stay tuned….

See you at State Session!!
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2025 GRANGE NEWS

Welcome to the 152nd Annual Convention
of the Michigan State Grange!! This is a different annual report for me to be giving.

An ongoing project is the Grange Dollar collection contest between the Granges of Michigan. We will only tally the “G” dollars but if you want to contribute to others, we will gladly take them too. I can’t wait to see what you collected for this project. I know a few Granges are working hard to collect as many as they can. At last year’s State Session we collected a good deal of G Dollars so I hope we can collect just as many this year!

For those that do not wish to collect the
Grange Dollars, we brought back the “Pennies from Heaven” collection this year. We will take any amount of coins (or paper money) once again this State Session. Please keep in mind, a little bit collected is more than what we had a year ago! I will be taking any of the collected coins to my local Credit Union as they have a coin machine that tallies up what you dump in and prints out a slip to take to the Teller for cash. Then I will deposit it in the State Grange bank account!
Lastly, Our new project this year was the Handmade Afghan Raffle! At the time of writing this report we haven’t sold as many tickets as I had hoped. With the price being very reasonable and everything was donated for the making of the afghans and the gift cards were also donated, we will make a good profit on this raffle. We will be drawing the evening of the Annual Banquet.
Okay, that’s enough for now but that covers all of the projects that have either happened or are ongoing currently. If you have any ideas for other projects, please let me know. We want to do things that we can draw from outside of the Grange as well.  We know every Grange does some type of fundraising for their own needs, that’s why we need to try to target outside funds too.
